My Project
Our AVID Student Ambassadors are the embodiment of grit, resilience, and excellence. These students are part of a rigorous academic program (Advancement via Individual Determination) aimed toward college readiness and preparation. This program supports students who are typically first generation to go to college or have faced significant challenges, but have a fervent desire to go to college. To remain committed to this program, students begin planning out their future success in the 9th grade and continue advancing their opportunities throughout their high school career by becoming involved community members, high-achieving scholars, and confident, well-rounded individuals. They must maintain their GPA, complete service hours every year, and apply to multiple colleges and scholarships by the time they graduate.
We want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of these ambassadors and award them with a high-quality trophy that they can carry with them throughout their life to remind them of their success and resilience.
To honor these incredible students, we hold an annual banquet where various awards are distributed and we would like this year to have a sentimental and elevated component. The student ambassadors are student leaders who have stepped up in the AVID program to be a source of outreach and inspiration for other students on campus. They participate in community events that present to families and parents about the program, they organize volunteer work for the student body, and they act as liaisons for schoolwide efforts between students and teachers.
To award them with this kind of trophy would be such an honor. This is an object that represents their journey towards higher education, a symbol of their triumphs over their obstacles, and a reminder that they can always succeed in the face of adversity.
