Our students need access to modern and relevant books that will not only support their growth in reading but support a life-long love for literature. What our school lacks is access to literature that reflects the diverse lives of our students. Our students are already hesitant readers, why would they read books that they can't connect to? Connecting to stories and characters empowers young adults to create change, continue overcoming barriers, and find inspiration for their futures. I hope with these novels, our students will find themselves fervently immersed in amazing stories. Becoming effective learners and communicators begins with reading, and our students deserve to enjoy it.

About my class
