This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are wonderful inner-city youth, who would greatly benefit from multicultural diversity books that are examples of children's multiculturally diverse backgrounds. I have selected a wide variety of diverse books to upgrade our present classroom library. A book like Henry's Freedom Box, Just Ask! Sulwe, Stick and Stone, Eight Days, The Proudest Blue, Sit-In, Emmanuel's Dream, I Am Enough, Dreamers, Separate Is Never Equal, and Brothers In Hope will be excellent additions to our library. My student will be so excited to have books such as A Boy Called Slow, Magic Trash, Aunt Flossie's Hats (and Crab Cakes Later, Keena Ford and the Second-Grade Mix-Up, Granny Torrelli Makes Soup, Who Was Rosa Parks? And Who Was Nelson Mandela? added to our collection.
