This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a high poverty, Title I school in Arizona. More than half of the families of my students do not have enough money to buy art supplies for school and are considered low-income households. Also, Title I schools have a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced-price breakfast/lunch.
My students not only come from low income, high-poverty homes but struggle with school in other areas (math, reading, and science).
I would like to create a STEAM (incorporating science, technology, math) art project to help students create a honeybee work of art! Thank you for your help!
My Project
As a visual arts teacher, it is my job to inspire the love of art and creativity to the leaders of tomorrow, as well as instill the passion for arts in all I teach. Among my 600+ students, I had the privilege to integrate Math, Science, and art when the pandemic hit and changed everything. Unfortunately, most of my students' only access to art is still home with a pencil and paper.
The art materials I am asking for will help students to love art while learning about science and math!!
What better than during a pandemic for an elementary grade child to be able to have access and practice their art and learn about science and math at the same time! I am asking for cray-pas, glue, watercolor paper and other supplies.
