Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a low-income area, with few resources readily provided for them. Many of my students live in the local homeless shelters because of their unfortunate family situations.
They want to learn and do well, but their circumstances do not allow for it.
Many of my students are new to the country and are ELL students. They come from families where English is not often spoken. For many of my students, this is their first experience in America.
My students are special because despite their disadvantages they come to school every day ready to learn. They are willing to try new things and challenge themselves anyway they can.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will give them an organized space to keep track of all of their homework assignments. Homework is very important. It helps reinforce the skills that are taught in the classroom. My students are struggling to keep track of their assignments.
These half-sized composition notebooks will be life-changing in the classroom.
The staplers would also be very helpful for bulletin board displays and classroom projects. The Swingline staplers are so great because they open easily. My students love being able to staple their own work.
