This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kids come from all over NYC, most however come from the surrounding neighborhood. For most of them, school is the most stable environment they have. Regardless of circumstances at home we work to provide them with the tools for a successful future.
I need to work hard to grab their attention and give them a reason to want to learn. My students have responded positively to animals in the classroom. As part of the curriculum we study lizards, crayfish, fish, and more. (I have a few extras like a Millipede and hamster)but the habitats provided are not adequate for good animal care.
These tanks, filters, and conditioning supplies will allow us to keep our animals safe and comfortable as we learn about them.
Help insure the learning of my students and the humane care of our creatures. I not only want them to learn about science but also about how we care for other living things.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
