This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have 26 homeroom students. We meet for about 25 minutes each day. At this time we have daily morning announcements, and any student can choose items to eat for breakfast. It is a nice time to start off their educational day. Many students have told me they do not enjoy reading.
I like Scholastic magazines because they provide various articles to read.
My students will have choices. The science or math articles are centered around their age groups, which makes it interesting and relatable. I would like them to be reading during this time to improve vocabulary, and build knowledge about the real world.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
