My Project

I've put together a number of items that will help improve my classroom environment. These items include a stand up work station with a stool, alternative lighting, and an essential oil diffuser. I have some specific students in my inclusion classroom who will benefit enormously from the stand up work station.

Ninth graders are at a unique crossroads, trying to cross the boundary from middle schooler to high schooler and improving the general comfort in the classroom will enable my students to reach their full potential academically.

Providing choice and options in terms of seating will accelerate student academic and social-emotional learning as we continue to navigate the impacts of the pandemic. Likewise, everyday, the students ask me to turn off the lights, and I have noticed that dim lights calm the students and increase their level of comfort in the classroom. Adding more alternative lighting will allow me to turn the lights off without it being too dark.
