My Students
My students are in the South Bronx, New York. They are creative, tech-savvy and always ready to learn. They are confident in their abilities and brave in exploring new content, projects, and activities. "Next class" is a thing they always look forward to - my inspiration!
My Project
Since the lockdown, I have been working from home in the hopes that we will return back to the school building soon but it looks like we still have a long way to go before that happens. My greatest desire now is to set up a little office corner in my house as I often work for hours daily at the dining which has resulted in swollen feet and lower back pains. These items will enable work more efficiently from home and support my students' online activities for long hours without impacting my health negatively. My online classes have several components; Slides/Nearpod, Google classroom, Google meet including the chatbox. It's often very difficult to monitor students' progress, responding to or monitoring the chat, sharing the screen, and Instructing from one monitor/screen. The second screen in this project will enable me to set up a dual monitor screen to better multi-task and support students during live-online classes. Students with IEPs or who require one-on-one conferencing will also benefit from this greatly. Many thanks for your kind consideration and donations.
