My students need an area rug and two bean bag chairs in our new portable classroom in order to feel comfortable during instruction, read alouds, and class meeting time.

My Students

I have a lively classroom where I strive to create a welcoming and warm environment for learning. My 5th graders often complain about having to sit on the uncomfortable floor for mini lessons, small group work, and class meetings.

What I love the most about our students is the unique experiences they bring into the classroom.

Students learn from one another about their different cultures, customs, languages, learning styles, and life experiences. My students also come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds with varying social/emotional skills in a school setting.

My Project

A large carpet will define our community space. It will be an inviting area for focused instruction, class meeting time, and conversation. The bean bag chairs will provide choice and options for students to have a special place to sit. These materials will last for many years to come.

When students enter a classroom, they should have a space that feels safe, clean, comfortable, and inviting.

Kids need this large carpet area to learn, listen, communicate and share. The bean bag chairs will provide a fun, alternative option for seating that every child can have access to.
