Our FFA club is excited to grow our animal science program, and a proper chicken house is the next step in giving our students hands-on agricultural experience. We currently raise chickens as part of our hatchery and animal care lessons, but we need a secure, weather-resistant coop to house them safely and effectively as they grow.
The chicken house we’re requesting will give our students the chance to care for their animals in a real-world setting—feeding, cleaning, observing, and maintaining the health and welfare of the flock.
This is more than just a shelter—it’s a tool for teaching responsibility, biosecurity, and best practices in poultry care. Students will also use this space to collect eggs, track production, and explore basic entrepreneurship, with eggs being used in classroom activities or shared with the community.
My FFA students are passionate, responsible, and eager to expand their skills in agriculture. This project will give them a home base for their feathered friends and a space where they can continue to grow as leaders and caretakers.
