Home Sweet Classroom

Help me give my students a warming and pleasant environment to learn. As a high-school teacher, my first priority is not to decorate, but after years of teaching, I realize that it is very important.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in rural North Alabama. These are great, respectful students who deserve to have the advantages as other schools. Over 60% of the students at our school are on free or reduced lunches. I want them to have the same chance as all our neighboring schools. I want my students to have every opportunity possible to be successful in the classroom and to prepare for their future. My goal for them is for them to be college and career ready when they leave our school.

My Project

Many times high-school classrooms are not decorated, but all classrooms should feel homey and inviting. With these decorations, I can make my room inviting for all my students. When students feel comfortable, hey are able to relax and learn. I want my room to be a place my students can’t wait to come in and feel like hey are at home. Too many times, we as high-school teachers forget that our classrooms should be warm and inviting, and with these decorations, I can make my room one that students remember and look forward to seeing each day. Home Sweet Classroom is how I can make his all happen.
