My students are nestled in the panhandle of WV where poverty is high and technology is scarce in many homes. During this pandemic, the majority of the students do not have the adequate computer equipment to be able to continue learning through online platforms. Only 1/3 of my students have access to a tablet or laptop and some of those share them with other siblings.
My Project
The majority of my students have little or no access to computer technology to learn from home during this pandemic. The students that do have technology are limited to an outdated tablet that does not have the capability to download the sites or browsers that are needed to complete their work. Many of these same students may have access to one computer but that computer is being shared between multiple students. The portability of the Chromebooks will allow the students to even travel to a hot spot if the internet is not available at their residence.
