Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of students coming from different cultural backgrounds, rich and diverse cultures and all speak many different languages: the challenge they have is learning to speak English so they can be successful academically and can communicate in their new environment. As their teacher, I watch this process all along the school year and find it very rewarding when my students realize the potential they have and how much they can learn and achieve.

Preschool children have a great capacity for learning and understanding new concepts, language and experiences when these make sense to them and are useful in their everyday classroom activities.

They learn to manipulate their environment and need language to communicate understandings as well as ideas while interacting with others. Language is a fundamental part of their learning process!

Seen the unprecedented circumstances and events that have relegated educators and students at home following the CV19 outbreak I am concerned for the educational success and progress of my students.

My Project

If this project is funded I will be able to send my students workbooks and materials to work at home with their families, seen as schools are not accessible due to an unprecedented circumstance in public health crisis situation.

I would like to send these workbooks and learning materials by mail to families as we cannot make direct contact with anyone in our school community.

It has been very challenging for educators for me also, to maintain contact with students, some of which are part of low income family situations. The only point of contact is classroom applications in which to post lesson plan guides/paths for parents to follow and refer to.

These materials and workbooks will be an excellent and unified system in my class to assign work and have it completed.
