I have a class of 20 English Language Learners eager to learn, as many of them start their journey in school for the very first time. We are a K1 Sheltered English Immersion class that faces challenges in learning and succeeding in the public school setting. We are a classroom set in a low-income, urban inner school in much need of resources.
My students are motivated to learn and I'm dedicated to giving them the best!
I want to provide a vibrant, exciting, and rich learning experience for all my kids!
My Project
As my district starts our year remotely, we more than ever need adequate technology and manipulatives to help aid in student learning. By incorporating technology in my home and turning my living space into my classroom, I can connect with students of all learning styles and backgrounds.
The technology provided by this project will give full access for my students to learn and play.
The document camera will help keep my students engaged and most importantly promote their language development and technology skills. The tech I am requesting will break the traditional passive learning model. Integrating technology to our curriculum will enhance interactions with my students and encourage participation and collaboration. With your help, my students will visualize, hear, and interact with all core subjects in a whole new way!
As I teach K1 to our 4 and 5 year olds, it is vital that my students have all the necessary materials to properly engage and complete their work. I plan on sending crayons, construction paper, and other arts and craft materials to my students so that they are able to complete all activities. Once we are back in school, I want to make sure I have all the items available in order to allow my students to access their materials without leaving the comfort and safety of their assigned seats. Items such as rug spots, and chair pockets will let this happen. I also want the mobility to move from table to table so that I can teach them at their seats limiting their movement around the class. Having a storage cart and dry erase easel will help me in doing so! Your donation will provide a fun and exciting way for my students to enjoy learning in and out of the classroom. .
