My students need varying clipboards and eight cushions and yoga blocks for their work in the classroom meeting area. These tools will help us differentiate to meet their learning needs!

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

The Team 151 Rockstars are an amazing team of students because we are always trying to support each other. We make sure that each team member has exactly what they need to be successful!
The Team 151 Rockstars are 4th and 5th grade students in a 12:1 bridge class.
We have special learning needs. Some of us have learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, autism or attention deficit disorders. School is not always an easy place for us. We need a smaller class so that we can stay focused. Most of us are also English Language Learners. We work with a special education teacher, an ESL teacher, an educational associate, a guidance counselor, a speech and language pathologist and an occupational therapist. We love soccer and learning about science topics. Sometimes we need our teachers to give us extra time to complete tasks or to repeat a lesson multiple times. We learn best when we incorporate all of our senses. We frequently need movement breaks to help us maintain our attention to task. We like to move around!
My Project
These materials are going to be a great resource for us! Our teacher gives us choices in how we learn. Sometimes we get to choose where in the classroom we are going to work and how we are going to complete our work. Our classroom is small and we use our desks and our meeting area to working with all of our teachers. We do a lot of work in small groups so that we stay focused. The clipboards will be great because some of us like to sit in the meeting area to complete our work. We need something to lean on while we are working. Some of us need large clipboards and others of us need small clipboards to write and lean on. The yoga blocks and floor cushions will be great for our meeting area. Some of us struggle to pay attention if we are sitting "criss, cross apple sauce." Some of us need something to prop ourselves up on. Because we all have different sensory needs, the yoga blocks would be great for some of our team members and the cushions will be better for others.
These yoga blocks, clipboards and cushions will help increase our focus when we are listening to a lesson, working in a small group or working independently.
We all learn differently and we all need different tools in order for us to be successful. These tools will help us to continue to work well as a team and make sure that our classroom is a place where each team member feels like they are at home.
