My Project

We are a Title I school with a large population of ELL learners.

Our students, often, do not have the basic comforts of home or little treats to reward their efforts.

Specifically, the fabric will be made into curtains to warm up our bright orange dated cabinets and help give a more calming effect to our room. The double stick tape is to help hang the curtains. Our classrooms all have analog clocks and our students can't read analog, so to increase their independence we have requested the digital clock. Because students no longer use their lockers, we need a place to keep coats for the students who like to leave their belongings with us so they know that they are safe. The holiday items (hot chocolate, candy, notecards, gift bags, cups, Chapstick) are so everyone gets at least one gift during the holiday season. When the students are done with their work, they enjoy the fuzzy coloring activities that have been gifted to us previously from Donors Choose (we could never have enough of those). We, my teaching partner and I, feel it is important to write the students notes of appreciation and applaud their successes and efforts which is why we are requesting the notecards.

Your support will allow us to bring a little bit of home to our classroom! Our classroom serves students who qualify for special education support and feel as if we are their safe place. We want to encourage them to continue to feel comfortable and have their needs and some of their wants fulfilled.
