This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Despite the challenges of teaching in an urban Title I school district, my students are incredibly unwilling to let any obstacle stand in there way. My students persevere better than anyone else I have ever met.
My students are kind and determined.
With the struggles of diversity and struggles of not being on grade level, we have yet to put a damper on our education. I have recently looped with my students in order to have a second year to help them either become more advanced or to catch them up to grade level. It is often that my students ask for time for tutoring or extra help. I am blessed to have such amazing students who want to put their work into their own education.
My Project
My students have been feeling the impacts of COVID. This is suppose to one of the most wonderful times of the year but my students are showing a lot of stress, even through zoom. My goal is to help provide students with basic supplies like deodorant, tooth paste, and a tooth brush, as well as give them calming gifts that will help them for when school starts back up in January.
My hope this season is to give studnets a holiday bag that not only includes basic necessities but also small gifts that can help relax and appreciate school even in a virtual setting.
I put little pick me up in there Holiday Bags that are all based around "stress-free" activities.
