This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to make literacy come alive by giving my students an opportunity to create their own individual gingerbread houses! This will give the students a great chance to use their imagination and create a gingerbread house. Most students may have never created one before, so this could be a great holiday activity for them to engage in.
This a great hands on activity where students will be able to be creative and have a blast!
We will read “Charlie’s Gingerbread House,” together as a class first. We are asking for cardboard gingerbread houses so it is more durable and easier to decorate. We’re also asking for stockings to give each student and fun holiday themed items such as candy canes, stickers, gingerbread ornaments, and lollipops.
