Hold Those Horns High!

Help me give my students upgraded harnesses to hold their saxophones and a new synthesizer for our jazz band.

My Students

Offering our music students the chance to succeed is my top priority. We strive daily to make opportunities available for our high school students to further their musical skills and expand their horizons.

Students attending our school have earned recognition at the district, state, regional and national level.

We have alumni working on Broadway, teaching college and public school music, and performing as professionals all over the world. Our music department has a 100+ year history of excellence and we try every day to live up to that legacy. We offer jazz band, two levels of string orchestra and concert band, pep band and marching band. We also have strong choral, guitar, drama and fine arts programs.

My Project

In recent months, we have had a number of saxophone harnesses wear out due to age. One even broke right after our latest concert, causing a nearly new Baritone Saxophone to hit the floor (and has been out of commission for over a month)!

Replacing these saxophone harnesses will allow our students to focus on making music instead of worrying about equipment failure.

We are also planning to program a number of pieces with our jazz band in the spring which will feature music by the group "Snarky Puppy". In order to get the right sounds, we need to acquire a new piece of equipment - a bass synthesizer. This will give our students the opportunity to play these new arrangements with a more authentic feel.
