This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are ELL/NEST 3rd grade students.
Our class is designed to better enhance the student's social skills, while helping them progress academically.
Our children benefit from visual aids to help guide them through lessons and greatly benefit from differentiation due to their different learning styles and needs.
They are hardworking students but their frustration levels rise each time the computers fail and interrupt our lessons. It is very difficult for the students to stay connected to the lessons when the lesson won't stay connected to them.
My Project
The computer we are requesting will allow us to deliver mathematics and science instruction seamlessly without interruption or technology failure. Right now, the lessons we teach are projected to a interactive Smartboard from a very outdated desktop computer. Almost daily, lessons are interrupted because the computer will freeze, skip slides or the communication between the interactive board and computer will abruptly stop.
This new desktop computer will allow us to access and display lesson materials without derailing lessons to troubleshoot technology problems.
With a new computer, the students will be able to share their work using the capabilities of our interactive board. We will be able to resume "station" activities and give students multiple access points to all our lessons. Please help us give our students access to technology to enhance their learning on daily basis!
