Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are curious and creative learners. They are interested in all things that move and make sounds. We are a medical focus school in Savannah, GA. I want to give students an opportunity to explore and learn using some STEAM materials. I am asking to fund two types of STEAM kits. I want to purchase Bee Bot robots and Snap Circuits to foster and nurture their natural curiosity while teaching real world skills.

My goal is to start small and introduce programming with Bee Bot robots that all ages of students can engage with.

Students can program the bots to move forward, backward, left and right to achieve a goal like moving towards an object. Then move on to more challenging types of coding and programming.

I want to use snap circuits with students. Snap circuits are a great way for students to use their reading and problem solving skills to follow directions to make a complete circuit. Then they can be creative and come up with their own plans to try out.
