My Students

My students are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit community that I grew up in. Many of them have limited opportunities to experience the world outside of our town. Through our classroom, they are exposed to new ideas, cultures, foods....They are encouraged to be dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers and more! They are our future, and I want to give them a great start to their long, successful lives.

My Project

Stability balls are replacing chairs in classrooms all over the United States. My students range in ability and as my school moves towards customized learning, using stability balls will help customize the classroom dynamic as well. These stability balls would provide my students fitness in the classroom and help improve their concentration. Stability balls are a way to wiggle in a controlled manner. Research has stated that it helps improve posture, strengthen muscles, and help their brain focus on the assigned task. When students are sitting on stability balls both sides of their brain are engaged and it helps students keep centered on the ball.
