My Students

Our elementary school is located in the southeastern part of Butler County, Pennsylvania. Our town has grown a lot during the past 20 years. Starting with farms, a few restaurants, a grocery store, and a couple of gas stations, it is continuing to grow each day.

My classroom is also growing each and every day.

I teach 48 students with different ways of reaching their full potential. Each of my students needs certain adaptations to learn. Some students need privacy or silence in order to concentrate, while others may need to “fidget” in their seats. Scheduled breaks are needed for some of my students as well. Other students learn best with technology or movement.

Aside from being so very unique and different, my students all have one thing in common: the desire to do their best. Possessing the tools necessary for their individual success is all that is needed.

My Project

Every year, there are students who have a difficult time focusing during class. Difficulty focusing in class can cause anxiety, low self-esteem, and poor grades.

The RE-vibe Focus Watch would help my students by reminding them to focus during class with a simple vibration.

This vibration would encourage students to continue their work and complete their assignment on time. Students shouldn't have to worry about their focus in class. They are at school to learn, have fun, and see their friends.

This watch would prevent students from feeling discouraged and promote student engagement at the same time, all while reminding them to stay on task.
