In our classroom we are traveling through the curriculum to become better learners and people. My classroom is a community where learners excitedly problem solve alone or with a peer, and look forward to sharing their learning and embracing their findings.
Our school is a beautiful storied building with an incredible and diverse community of learners.
Children show up with smiles, hugs and a glimmer of curiosity in their eye. They are eager to learn, and actively searching for their voice and proving their bustling personalities within the classroom.
My Project
Our school is fortunate enough to have a new math program to implement this year. With the new program, I hope to use the document camera to demonstrate methods, strategies and "share-out" student learning. I also value the necessity of peace when learning. With a boom box, my students can have jazz music playing in the background of a science quiz- or enjoy a song to sing along with during morning meeting. Students will also use the CD player to listen to books as a listening center. The small speaker system will allow me to show videos to my students to demonstrate math lessons, play interactive videos and facilitate games for the entire class to enjoy.
Having these items will truly bring our classroom to life.
In this technology savvy generation of students, we truly do a disservice to our students when we do not provide technology that enhances and entices them in their learning. Having these items will connect the final fuses inside the child's' mind who depends on auditory, visual, and kinesthetic approaches to solidify and clarify their learning.
