My Students

My students' reading skills range from grade level to below grade level. Fifteen of my students have a reading learning disability.They require a variety of literacy strategies to understand and apply reading skills. One third of my students are from low income families.

My Project

My students will benefit from this buzzer system as they play a Jeopardy-like game to answer reading comprehension questions on the stories they read in class. Students will be motivated to come to class prepared, having written questions that will be used in the game in the spiral notebooks. This will also encourage students to participate. Students will play in small groups and as individuals. When students are successful they will enjoy the activity and develop critical thinking skills as they collaborate, write questions and participate in a class game.
