In Petersburg, Va our students are not always given the best but we as a staff we make it work all the time. There are a lot of visual learners in this generation and with an iPad as a teacher I can do so much to allow the students to understand their history but fun and engaging ways of presenting it through an iPad and it’s features. This is my first year teacher I have tried a lot of different methods in engaging my students such as blending history with today’s culture. Today’s culture involves technology and I have discovered that can be very beneficial in the classroom.
Growing up in Detroit we didn’t have much resources so I understand.
We had to learn the old fashion way which I’m thankful for everyday but times changes and our scholars are changing as well. We must be able to adapt to different learning methods for our students. My goal is to make history fun again for all students because history is for all of us and it can be very fun! I want my students to learn everything from laws, wars to their rights as humans in such a trouble time. I hope someone or a few can help me at this time to achieve such a goal of making history fun for all students in Petersburg that takes my class!
