it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The History of Board Game class focuses on both learning how to play existing games and developing your own. It is a mix of practical, creative, and hands-on activities. It’s typically structured into two main parts: understanding board games and designing your own.
This board game class offers a combination of fun, creativity, and technical skill development.
The first part of the class is learning how to play different board games or card games. Students will focus on understanding the mechanics, strategies, and fun elements of various board games. They will learn the basic components of board games, including rules, player interaction, sportsmanship, objectives, strategy, game etiquette and scoring systems.
The second part of this class is developing, building, and creating your own board game. After gaining a solid understanding of how games work, students transition into designing their own board games. This section involves creative and technical aspects of game development: conceptualization, theme, target audience, objectives, designing, game mechanics, player interaction, and game analysis.
By the end of the course, students should have a deeper appreciation for how games are designed, and they will have the tools to create and test their own games.
