History of Abraham Lincoln

My students need these items to add to their study of Abraham Lincoln before going to visit all of the historic sites in Springfield, IL.

My Students

The students at my school and in my classes are a lively bunch. They are inquisitive, creative, and fun to have in class. However, with nearly 70% of the students on free or reduced-price lunch the poverty rating is pretty high.

These kids are not able to be provided with all the tools that normal middle class families can for their child's education.

Sometimes, even simple things like regular school supplies are not normally provided. So, it is hard for them to be as successful as they can be sometimes. They do prevail though and have successes, even with their situations.

This is why I have chosen to come to DonorsChoose and create projects that hopefully will be funded by people who would like to see these kids succeed.

My Project

These items will add to our study of the history of Abe Lincoln.

Students will know and understand the history before walking in Abe's shoes when we go and visit the historical places in Springfield, IL.

It will help students get a first hand look at how influential Lincoln really was to our country and how it was molded, so long ago.

By using these books, students will conduct a study of Lincoln throughout his life and see how he came to be the man he was. It is important for our students to understand how they to can become influential as well.
