My Project

A big part of eighth grade literature is history. Most of the units in each different curriculum have at least two if not more historical fiction and historical non-fiction units. My entire second semester each year revolves around historical fiction and non-fiction, and these books are just what I need.

Shortly, my students will embark on their first biographical research assignment: Researching and writing a biography on someone from the Civil War.

These books are all related or mention a variety of different people from the Civil War, from spies to nurses to soldiers. By supplying these books, you are helping to supplement their knowledge base through literature and getting them away from technology.
