Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
6th grade social studies focuses on early civilizations and religions. Our students are from all over the world. So it is important to showcase all different cultures, religions, and demographics.
These materials (pencils, posters, organizers) will help ensure that all students see themselves in history and can fully grasps the impact of the past on today.
It is important that students see themselves in what they are learning. I try to ensure this happens in my class.
Although it is my responsibility to ensure this inclusivity I know I will have students who check out and start reading the posters around the room. This ensures they are reading something relevant. Not only to the class but to their lives.
