History, Adapted

My Project

I am requesting gift cards to purchase adapted World History activities so that my students with extensive support needs can more effectively access their education. My students have access to a curriculum touching on multiple school subjects every school year, but the current curriculum does not cover the entire world history course that students in general education courses access. I would like to provide my students with the tools needed in order to gain a comprehensive and robust experience within their high school history classes in line with state standards, but created at a level that is appropriate for all students to access.

My students want to learn about all areas of the world, not just that which is right in front of them.

They deserve the chance to explore the same topics in school as any other high school student. However, sometimes their cognition can be a barrier as traditional high school classes are not created with students with significant support needs in mind. This donation would help us provide our students with carefully created materials that support student learning at their level while introducing them to topics they've never had access to before.
