This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am so excited to be working with 6th
graders!
My ELA/social studies class will focus on comprehension and US history from World War 1 to present. I want my students to not only learn about history, but to learn from history to help them be good citizens that shape the future into something great.
My Project
I am building my first classroom library as well as asking for sets of books for my students to read together. These books about historical movements and events will be used in my classroom in ELA and social studies combined. I look forward to helping my students read better as well as teaching them about US history from WW1-present. So much has happened in our nation since the first world war that has shaped us into the country and people we are today and it is imperative to the future that citizens learn from the past.
