My Students
My students live to express themselves through the arts. I have now created another opportunity for them to do so...Printmaking! I want my students to not only learn the history of printmaking but to fully experiment and become the masters that they are.
My students come from a school district that the arts are most definitely supported; yet, can only be provided a minimal amount of finances.
This becomes an issue when I am trying to fully reach and provide my students with a fulfilling printmaking experience.
My Project
My students will utilize this printmaking press by exploring how not only printmaking can be integrated across other disciplines, but how they can evoke meaning and emotions through their prints. My students will be analyzing and aligning prints according to history, geographical context, and personal experiences. Students will be analyzing the impact of time, place, and culture on printmaking throughout history. While students are learning about how the time, place and culture impacted printmaking, they will integrate current cultural and historical events into their artworks while I am "Empowering Students Through Art".
This etching printmaking press will improve my classroom by providing them with an opportunity to integrate history, culture, and geography into their art.
This donation will provide my students with an opportunity to analyze and reflect on Printmaking throughout the ages, as well as how their own masterpieces are related to culture and current historical references.
