Our rural school is a K-12 school. Our elementary school is K-3, serving about 300 students. This year I am moving up to third grade from kindergarten. With this move, my third graders' needs are very different from the needs of the kindergarten students in my former classes. I would like to be able to provide these students with a learning environment that meets these new needs and standards.
Please help me in this quest!
My students are eager for new experiences and chances to explore the world around them. Whether it be through using tablets, performing science experiments, or reading about faraway places, I want to provide them with these opportunities in any way I can. This DonorsChoose.org project will help me make this year as successful as I can.
My Project
We want to learn about a variety of historical figures! What better way than to read a chapter book from the Who Was Series?! These books come in a variety of reading levels and on a variety of different historical figures. They are current, interesting, and will get my class excited about history. No more long, dull biographies!
I want to provide many interesting choices of historical figures for my students to learn about!
I want them to find someone who really sounds interesting to them and READ! Then I plan on having my students share to the entire class some interesting things they learned from these inspirational people. I hope the students will make connections with what they are reading and be able to see that anything is possible.
Thank you for encouraging a love of reading and history!
