Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These materials will be used to create two art projects for the entire school in celebration of Hispanic Heritage. They will be creating Hojalata which is a traditional Mexican art technique using foil. They will also be creating pinatas using cardboard and streamers. Art is a central theme in Hispanic Heritage and we want to provide our students with an activity that will allow them to express through art. The entire school will be participating in the projects and a local art teacher will provide the art instruction. Our school is a bilingual dual language school that focuses instruction on English and Spanish. This is a perfect project to connect art with language and heritage.
