My Project

I teach a direct instruction math class for students across a variety of abilities. My students try their hardest every day and have made some major growth, academically, emotionally, and socially.

The resources in this project will help me to provide a more organized environment that will improve student learning and help me to monitor their continued progress.

The rewards, both candy and stickers, are there to help keep students motivated as self-esteem can often get in the way in math. Highlighters and colored pencils will help students take better notes and organize their work more clearly. Coordinate plane dry erase boards will help them to be able to practice graphing in a way that promotes critical thinking.

Folders will be used to clearly label work for the days of the week. This will help the students for whenever either they or I are absent to be able to stay on task. The clipboards will be used to quickly monitor student progress throughout the day and collect data more efficiently. As all of my students are on IEPs this is something that I feel is a need. The extra clipboards can be used for students wanting to work away from a desk or for creating interactive activities and building a thinking classroom.
