This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In these times with all my computers way out to date, the city not allowing the student's to print their own work, I'm at a point where I'm printing everything for every student...all 96, every lab, every report, every project...my computer does not have the room anymore. I need new technology now.

We are are high poverty school district, low income families, half my kids do not have computers at home with Internet, no printers at home.

All of our computers for the student's do not have access to saving and printing out their lab reports and projects for their science fair, their science labs....I now have them sending me their projects to my email, and I print out each of the 96 student's projects, and I have to save them to my computer. DVD does not hold enough space anymore, with all the graphs, tables, pages of written work and pictures...my computer is at it's max. I'm looking for the new technology, blu ray, to save files in big numbers so I do not lose my students work. They work hard in my class, they are willing to do the work and try their best, yet I worry I will not have the capacity to keep what I am doing now to supply their needs for learning. We are a title 3 school, urban city, poverty at it's highest in years and parents worried about their students success

My Project

As I said above, the new technology will allow me to save files that my student's send to me so my computer does not stop working. I've got an overload already on my computer, runs very slowly, when I have student's sending me their labs and projects with pictures, graphs, tables, etc, I only have enough space for about half the year left. Then my computer will not work, will not save their hard work that they spend after school sometimes working on. Blu ray is the next generation to save information, without this and without a new computer which will not happen in my district, i cannot keep my student's work on file. Printing is impossible now without printers, let alone a paper supply, so this is my last resort...high end information supply.

It's important for my student's...not only for my present students but my future student's to show them how past labs and projects are completed and done well.

Inquiry is important, seeing rather than listening comes in handy in the science classroom. Hopefully if you read this you'll understand that blu ray is the next generation of information gathering, holding lots of reports, files, etc. This is what I need if I can't have a high tech. computer in a science class full of smart students.
