Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Pre-K classroom consist of three-year-old students, experiencing the school setting for the first time. They come from very diverse backgrounds and have different learning styles. They are always eager to learn and open to new experiences. Many of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, which means they live below or near poverty levels. My students are bursting with curiosity, but need guidance with self-regulation, due to their tender age. They come to school each day ready and willing to learn and I take pride and great responsibility in knowing that I am setting the foundation for their educational experiences for years to come.
My Project
By integrating the use of laptops like the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro - 15 Touch-Screen, my students will be able to have a window of learning without leaving the classroom and be able to investigate and integrate the different subjects like science, reading, language arts and phonological awareness into their daily learning experience. The use of Emotion Floor Cushions and Liquid Tile Mats will help me facilitate for our preschoolers the guidance needed to interpret their own feelings and emotions and to interact appropriately with others, because when we help children learn how to communicate their feelings and emotions effectively, we give them the social and emotional tools they need to deflate tense situations and to better understand themselves and their peers. This project will take the students learning to a whole new level since technology and emotional intelligence are key components for a successful classroom experience. The materials I’m requesting in this project will make a great difference because my students are early learners who have limited access to these types of materials and technology at school and at home. Donating to this project will help us create those incredible memories and experiences for all the students in my classroom.
