It is a pleasure being a middle school librarian! The over 600 students who come through the library at any given time make it a delightful experience. They are "typical teens" in that they love to spend time with their friends, on their electronic devices and showing us adults how smart and independent they are growing each day. Helping them learn more about themselves and the world around them through books and online resources is truly rewarding!
I have learned to listen more, ask fewer questions and do whatever I can to meet my students' needs.
Educational technology has revolutionized every second, every minute, every hour of our every day
Reading, researching, sharing and planning; we do everything in such an innovative way
Our lives revolve around digital creation; technological devices serve as our guides
Like compasses, they help us navigate through the cyber world and take us on the most spectacular rides
Compose, download, delete, send! We live so technologically
Unfortunately, there is something that gets all over the shared devices and then all over you and me
Microscopic matter throws a macroscopic monkey wrench our way
Touching, swiping and searching. We must keep germs at bay
Dangling participles not dangerous pathogens are what we should have on our minds
So please help us wipe out those vile viruses--not the computer ones--but the pesky biological kind
Kid-friendly/highly-effective wipes and sprays would clean up the situation, for sure
Our work in our world as well as that online can once again be safer and more secure
It is important that students attend school every day, feeling well and ready to learn. Since we all handle electronic devices as part of our instructional program, keeping them as germ-free as possible is a priority. I have requested hand sanitizer for general use as well as individually wrapped packets of hand sanitizer to take on-the-go, pocket-sized computer screen cleansing wipes and antibacterial device spray. Your donation will help us maintain a proactive, responsible and health learning environment.
