Our district educates approximately two hundred and fifty, residential and day students in kindergarten through grade twelve who have emotional, behavioral and learning problems. Most students reside here and live in cottages with an array of different staff members supporting them.
The computer lab is open to students in grades kindergarten through twelve.
Our classroom is designed to attract all ages and has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere of happiness to it when you enter. We try to keep a peaceful environment. Lessons are tailored to each student's ability and most often, one-on-one instruction is necessary.
My Project
Help me create a fun and exciting challenge for my students to compete with one another to earn this Apple Airpod. I asked them what they would like to compete for and this is it!! GAME ON!!!
Or Shall we say "TYPE ON"!!
Each high school student will be given the opportunity to earn this by reaching a set level on their Nitrotype level skills.
Type to Achieve! We plan to have first, second and third place winners in each Elementary, Middle and high school level depending on the donations we receive! It would be great to reward all but only those who reach that level first will earn this!
This project will motivate my students to type and type! They will continually be on Nitrotype typing their little fingers away to success. Win or lose and with or without this, they will all be winners with typing practice and increased accuracy and speed. Practice makes perfect!
The Airpods that are requested will help the student continue to use Nitrotype on their personal phone, tablet and other technology devices. So their ty[ping will not only be limited to the computer classroom!
