In my physical science and chemistry classes, students engage in frequent (about weekly), hands-on experiments that deepen their understanding of key scientific concepts—from changes in states of matter to endothermic and exothermic reactions. At the heart of many of these labs is a reliable heat source: the hot plate. Unfortunately, the hot plates we currently use are outdated, inconsistent, and some barely work due to age-related wear.
By funding this project, you're helping to replace these aging tools with safe, efficient, and modern hot plates.
These new hot plates will allow students to conduct labs more accurately and safely, giving them a more authentic and engaging experience with real scientific processes.
This isn’t just about equipment—it’s about inspiring the next generation of scientists. Your support helps create a classroom environment where students can confidently explore the world around them through observation, experimentation, and critical thinking.
With your help, we can keep our lessons hot—and our learning even hotter!
