Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I recently became the advisor of the student newspaper which had gone defunct over the last few years. We are effectively starting from scratch. This means we need essential supplies for our students to create a quality newspaper.

The computer will allow for proper publishing software, and the camera will allow the students to take quality photos and videos of events, sports, and other activities.

We are a Title 1 school with over 90 percent of our students on free or reduced lunch. We don't have the funds and need your help supporting student journalism.

A crucial part of my high school experience was serving on the Editorial Board of the student Newspaper at my High School. I have long dreamed of becoming the advisor for a high school student newspaper to pay it forward to the next generation of student journalists. Please help me accomplish my dream and, most importantly, support student voice!
