My Project
Help my special education high school students in the Bronx games and activities to help support their mental health. These requested materials will provide a playful yet structured way to improve problem-solving skills, enhance focus, and foster social interaction, all of which contribute to reducing stress and anxiety. They also promote resilience and emotional expression, allowing individuals to manage emotions in a supportive, low-pressure environment. The Sensory items (such as stress balls, fidget toys, or textured objects) help individuals ground themselves through tactile stimulation, which can reduce feelings of anxiety, increase focus, and provide a calming effect.
These items encourage mindfulness and self-soothing techniques, particularly in high-stress moments. The laptop will offer access to mental health apps, therapeutic programs, and digital tools that support mindfulness, meditation, and emotional awareness.
They can also serve as a resource for creative expression through writing, art, or music, which can positively impact mood and well-being.
