With your contributions, we were able to purchase a collection of materials that strengthen both communication and career-readiness skills—essential tools for lifelong success. These resources, including John Wiley and Sons Social Skills Lessons and Activities and 5-Minute 21st Century Job Skills Activities, are being used to teach students how to navigate real-world social and workplace situations through engaging, hands-on lessons that build teamwork, self-awareness, and professionalism.\r\n\r\nIn addition, visual learning materials such as Boho Parts of Speech Posters, Social Skills for Teens: Job Skills Workbook, and Speech Therapy Posters for the Classroom have transformed our learning environment into a vibrant, accessible space that promotes active participation and understanding. These visual aids support language development, grammar comprehension, and expressive communication—skills that are vital for both academic and social success.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is more than a donation—it's an investment in our students' futures. Because of your support, our classroom is better equipped to empower each learner to find their voice, build confidence, and prepare for the world beyond the classroom. Some of my minimally verbal students showed they can interact with peers by watching to see if their peer makes the basket. That is huge in terms of building awareness of others. \r\n\r\nThe headphones provided has helped students focus better during lessons, especially when there's background noise in our shared therapy room. This simple gift allows them to concentrate more easily and engage in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe games you've provided are also incredibly valuable. The students have shown an ease in anxiety about interacting with their peers because they can do so in a fun and supportive way. The games have also worked as incentives to motivate students to stay on task and work hard.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the social-emotional activities included with the games allowed one of our more reticent students to express their feelings creatively and safely. It allowed for a discussion about the student's feelings.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous contribution. Your generosity has not only brought tangible materials and resources into our classroom—it has also brought joy, hope, and renewed motivation to both myself and my students. You may not know their names or stories, but you have made a meaningful and lasting impact on their educational journey, and for that, I am sincerely grateful.\r\n\r\nWhen I first created this project, it stemmed from a real and urgent need I observed in my classroom. Whether it was the lack of appropriate materials, limited access to resources, or the desire to enhance student engagement through new learning tools, I knew that something had to change. Unfortunately, as many educators know, budgets are tight and resources are stretched thin. It's people like you—generous, kind-hearted, and committed to making a difference—who bridge that gap and remind us that we are not alone in our mission.\r\n\r\nMy students come to school each day with incredible resilience. Many of them face challenges outside the classroom that are beyond their years, yet they still show up, ready to learn, connect, and grow. Thanks to your donation, I now have the means to support their learning in a way that meets their diverse needs. Whether it's through hands-on materials, engaging activities, or tools that foster creativity and collaboration, I know that your contribution will have a ripple effect that reaches far beyond a single lesson or school year.\r\n\r\nThis project is more than just supplies—it's about creating an environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Your support has helped me provide that space. As a teacher, it's incredibly moving to know that someone I've never met believes in the value of education enough to invest in it. It gives me strength on the hard days, and it reaffirms my purpose as an educator.","fullyFundedDate":1742823875878,"projectUrl":"project/communicate-connect-and-thrive-enhanc/9075283/","projectTitle":"Communicate, Connect, and Thrive: Enhancing Social and Functional Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Breheny","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8611668"},{"teacherId":9762902,"projectId":8801840,"letterContent":"Thank you so much!\r\nI have enjoyed having this iPad to trial new communication apps for non speaking or minimally speaking students. For example, I have one student that I would like to order an assistive technology app for Ipad to help her communicate.\r\nIn having a trial iPad I was able to explore: was she motivated by this system? Did she know how to scan through the icons, and would she focus and use this program to speak?\r\nThe answer was yes. I was able to see that she was motivated by voice output on an app and understood how to use it with modeling and instruction.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, I have other non speaking students that I am now using the app to trial various apps for communication. Once I discover their strengths, motivations and abilities on various apps, I will make a choice and order their own system through our technology department. In having my own trial iPad, I am able to move more quickly and informatively with the assistive technology process.","fullyFundedDate":1727463074118,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-find-a-voice/8801840/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Find a Voice!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9762902"},{"teacherId":9775456,"projectId":8816460,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my project.
