The Class of 2018 is getting ready to graduate and start on their next journey. Throughout the year, these students have applied to a combined total of over 220 colleges and universities. They have spent numerous hours completing scholarship and financial aid applications to make their college goals a reality. Approximately 95% of students applied to at least one college, with a majority planning on attending either a two- or four-year college. Other students have plans varying from joining the workforce, participating in an apprenticeship or joining the military.
These students have worked hard over their school careers and put a lot of thought into their next steps.
We couldn't be more excited to see the amazing things they will accomplish!
My Project
To celebrate the success of our seniors and their next steps, we will be hosting a Decision Day Celebration. Items will be raffled off to Seniors to give them a head start on stocking their new dorm rooms and apartments. Many students may not be able to purchase these items on their own, so we want to send them off with things that will enhance and simplify their first year of college. Every dorm room needs a mini fridge to store study snacks, and what college student doesn't need coffee every once in a while? We need mini fridges, coffeemakers, microwaves and an assortment of basic school supplies. We are also going to provide two backpacks full of school supplies. The cost of school supplies can really add up, so we are hoping to remove some of that burden for two students.
