This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Carl Sagan wrote, “The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together.” Please partner with me to help minds develop in their careers in math and science.

My students are military kids who have a tremendous sense of duty and are striving to do their best with limited resources.

Our school is the magnet high school for the nearby Air Force base. Our students come from military families and know about sacrifice. Many have been in over 5 different schools before they enter high school as they have followed their parents' careers in the military.

My Project

Our school is putting together a community garden to support the Environmental Science class. We will be starting our plants indoors and transferring them on site behind the high school.

The grow lights give better and broader spectrum light for plants that we start inside.

The shovels, hose and weeding tools will be used over the summer to help maintain the garden. In addition to supporting learning in the classroom during the school year, this will be an ongoing project over the summer to help support the food pantry with fresh vegetables when they are ripe.
