Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am teaching Precalculus this coming year. I have been teaching Algebra 1 for the past seven years so much of my supplies are geared for smaller hands and younger content. For example: I need to update some of my supplies from middle-school sized scissors to scissors that are big enough for these 17-18 year old's to be holding. Additionally, I have some exciting projects in mind for the coming year but need supplies like yard sticks and altimeters to be able to make some of the trigonometry and calculus real to these students.

I work with a Title 1 school, which means more than 70% of our population lives under the poverty line.

We, as teachers, provide much of the supplies for these students throughout the year and every few years, we need to refresh the supply of clipboards, rulers, etc that inevitably get broken or worn through the years of use. This is that year for me.
