This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I teach in an AIS school in Louisville, KY. We are a minority-majority school with a high-poverty student body and some of the most amazing and resilient students you could imagine. Our students have high trauma, and although they are nothing short of incredible, they sometimes need additional tools to cope with life's stressors. In my classroom, students are recovering from missed or failed classes. They are with me for the majority of the school day. My goal is to create an environment that is not only a safe place but a stress-free environment. Sometimes students don't have the supplies or tools they need to be successful in the classroom. They need glue, batteries for different tools in the classroom, and more to support differentiated learning, and even rewards for growth and good work like the Good Job cards! The tablecloths and rugs are for classroom comfort and cleanliness (we have tables, not desks). Could you help me make this happen for them? I appreciate your support!
