This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second graders are rock stars. They are curious, creative, and their earnings are their learning. They work hard and learn more every day. My challenge is to keep it engaging for them. I want them to have all niceties had by our higher economic schools. I also need to provide daily individual and small group instruction in both reading and math to meet the wide range of levels and instructional needs of my students. We use blended learning in all subjects.
That means that my students need frequent access to technology to access web based components of our curriculum.
Our school is beautiful and the surrounding neighborhood is charming. It is a special place for the children who love coming here. Rose Park school families are committed to the academic achievement of all of our students.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students learning. The listening center will really benefit our daily routines in our classroom. I will be able to give differentiated reading instruction to small flexible groups of students and provide my students with quality rotation centers so that they are always learning. The listening center will be supplied with high interest picture books that will inspire my students to love reading, while they are improving their word recognition, fluency, and ability to read connected text. The listening center also helps to develop listening comprehension and reading comprehension. I will also include a required retell template so that they can improve in writing.
